Studio welcomes a new album from Glenn Sogge. Phases Of The Spheres.

Glenn Sogge writes:

These live performances were my initial forays into the world of live performance of electronic music. (At least in this portion of my career; I did some similar performances 40 years ago while in college and shortly thereafter.)

They share some common sounds but expanded as the capabilities and performance situations grew. The core technology was Ableton Live Lite controlled by a Launchpad Mini for clip/loop control and live synth playing during the performance. Some loops were created during the performances and then included in later portions of the performance(s).

The first track was a "live in the studio" real-time test of the concept, technology, and initial content.

The second track was from a house show at The Woodhouse in Portland, Oregon. Many thanks to Behrens Samuelson for setting it up and to Clayton Cook for providing the venue.

The third track was from a show in the lobby of the Ace Hotel in downtown Portland, Oregon, as part of the monthly series of events sponsored by Sounds et al and Beacon Sounds. Thanks to Andy Fry of Sounds et al and to Andrew Neerman of Beacon Sounds for this wonderful series which has, sadly, recently been discontinued.
